JOB DESCRIPTION
Highly Acclaimed Nobu Miami Beach Restaurant is currently looking to expand our Culinary Team. We are looking for reliable, hardworking and professional Pastry Chefs. All candidates must possess knowledge of restaurant kitchen procedures, basic knife skills and a solid understanding of food preparation and health code standards.
The Pastry Chef works under the command and supervision of a senior member of the kitchen staff while prepping and preparing food items according to recipes and the Nobu Standard to ensure guest satisfaction.
Prior relevant experience and familiarity with basic cooking supplies and equipment is preferred. He or she must be committed to the customers, reliable to his or her co-workers, and be a self-motivated, organized, and detailed individual. Professional speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.

COMPENSATION
* Depends upon Skills and Experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs light food preparation duties
- Preps food for cooking, including washing and chopping, etc.
- Prepares the pastry station and ensures all ingredients meet quality standards and are ready for service
- Plates desserts according to Nobu standards during service.
- Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation and service
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic culinary coursework or equivalent experience highly preferred
- Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
- Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- 1 year minimum kitchen experience
